Allegri snubs Cristiano Ronaldo in Ballon d’Or verdict

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri snubs Cristiano Ronaldo saying Ballon d’Or winner Leo Messi is ‘technically the best player in the world.’

The Argentinean ace won the seventh Ballon d’Or in his career on Monday. Ronaldo didn’t participate in the ceremony that took place in Paris.

“They picked Messi and we can say that technically he is the best player in the world, but I don’t know what they base their judgement on,” Allegri said at a press conference after Juventus’ win over Salernitana on Tuesday, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb.

Ronaldo played one season under Allegri at Juventus before the Tuscan tactician was sacked in 2019.

They were on good terms, but when Allegri returned to the club, their relationship had changed.

Evra reveals the two reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus

In his unveiling press conference, Allegri said that Ronaldo should have accepted rotation during the season and according to many, including Ronaldo’s friend and former Juventus defender Patrice Evra, it was one of the reasons why the Portuguese ace wanted to leave the Bianconeri.

The 36-year-old eventually returned to Manchester United in a €14m deal plus €8m add-ons after scoring 101 goals in 134 appearances with the Serie A giants.
