According to Sky Sport Italia, Massimiliano Allegri snubbed Gigio Donnarumma’s potential move to Juventus to keep hold of Wojciech Szczesny.

The Italian goalkeeper had been linked with a move to Turin, but according to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Allegri opted to drop the former Milan man to keep hold of Szczesny.

Donnarumma will leave Milan at the end of the season, having failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension with the Rossoneri.

‘Allegri immediately told Juventus directors he prefers Szczesny because he considers him among the top four goalkeepers in the world,’ Di Marzio said.

‘Gigio was a priority for Juventus, but Allegri preferred Szczesny, a brave and risky choice,’ the journalist added.

Donnarumma is now set to join PSG having reached a verbal agreement over a €12m-a-year deal.

Donnarumma’s PSG medical imminent?

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Donnarumma could undergo his medical examinations with the Ligue 1 giants while on international duty with the Azzurri during Euro 2020.

However, he’d need to receive the green light from both the FIGC and Italy CT Roberto Mancini.
