Massimiliano Allegri touched on the physical issues bothering star striker Dusan Vlahovic after his return from the World Cup in Qatar.
The 22-year-old forward went into the tournament on the back of an adductor injury, which forced him to miss the Bianconeri’s last five games across all competitions, and he did not feature heavily in Qatar. Vlahovic only saw 79 minutes of action at the World Cup, playing 24 minutes against Brazil and starting in the 3-2 loss to Switzerland.
Allegri discussed the condition of Vlahovic after Juventus’ friendly win over Arsenal, providing an update on his star striker via La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Dusan has started a rehabilitation course for an issue that hasn’t disappeared, even during the World Cup. We just hope to have him back as soon as possible.”
There are fears that Vlahovic could be ruled out for a number of games in the new year, like their opening clash with Cremonese on January 4 or their key game against Napoli on January 13.
The 22-year-old Serbian striker has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 15 appearances this season.
