Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has reiterated that every player involved ‘must help the team’ in a message aimed at Leandro Paredes, but also at other Juventus players.

The Argentina international was an unused substitute in Juventus’ 4-2 win over Torino in the derby della Mole on Tuesday. Allegri benched the PSG loanee giving 21-year-old Enzo Barrenechea his Serie A debut and his first start with the senior team.

“I am sorry for Paredes, but I take decisions for the team’s good. All those involved must be ready to help their teammates. The pitch does the talking,” Allegri said at a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia on Tuesday.

Allegri repeated several times that all Juventus players must help each other at this moment, so the message was aimed at Paredes, but also the rest of the team.

“In order to reach our targets, everyone must be available and help the team,” said Allegri later on, commenting on Pogba’s season debut.

“Pogba did well after almost one year out of action. All the players involved did well.

“We must continue with this mentality and in order to do it, players must always be available to help their teammates,” continued the Italian tactician.

“We can only do it if we work as a team. Everyone must be ready to help. Those who are subbed on are much more important than those starting. I need to rotate and those who don’t play may get angry, but I base my decisions on what’s best for the team.”

Allegri has been calling for Juventus unity especially since the Bianconeri were handed a 15-point deduction in January.

The Serie A giants are now occupying a Conference League placement and are 10 points below the top four in the Serie A table. This coming Sunday they visit José Mourinho’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
