Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri says he would welcome the proposed January arrival of Didier Drogba.

The Ivory Coast international is again being linked with the Rossoneri after reports that he’s asked to quit Shanghai Shenhua this month.

“I think these types of transfers are complicated,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. “But Vice-President Adriano Galliani knows how to conclude them if there is the chance to do that.

“It is clear that when we speak about players of this calibre then they would increase the technical level of the team.

“But the squad is doing well anyway and the boys are growing.”

The Diavolo have had a problematic campaign to date as they initially struggled following the mass exodus of talent in the summer.

“We have to have an excellent second half of the season, that is our objective,” the tactician added. “We need to get some consistency to our results, even if that is not easy.

“We have improved since the start of the season. Now we are getting closer to the Champions League and the derby, and we have to get as many points as possible in order to stay in contact with the top of the table.”

The Diavolo are currently sixth in the standings, nine points behind third and the last remaining Champions League spots.
