West Ham and Newcastle United are reportedly considering hiring Massimiliano Allegri, but the Italian tactician will demand at least €8m per season to coach in the Premier League.
Allegri has emerged as a potential candidate to replace under-fire Julen Lopetegui at West Ham, and according to Calciomercato.it, Newcastle are also considering the ex-Juventus and Milan tactician, one of the most successful coaches in Italy.
Allegri was sacked by Juventus this past May and terminated his contract with the Bianconeri a few weeks later.
Allegri’s salary request for West Ham and Newcastle revealed
In his second stint in Turin, he earned €7m per season after tax, circa £5.8m. According to Calciomercato, the Italian tactician would demand €8m a year, about £6.6m, to coach one of the two Premier League clubs.
Allegri is without a club, but according to the report, he can keep high demands thanks to interest from Saudi clubs, which would be willing to pay up to €20m per season to secure his signature.
Allegri, a former midfielder, has won six Serie A titles and five Coppa Italia during his coaching career.
Calciomercato claims Allegri is taking English lessons in London. The Italian tactician was spotted in the capital last week for a Europa League match between Tottenham and Roma.
