Max Allegri has been linked with a return to Juventus, and La Gazzetta dello Sport reports he wants the revolution he was denied two years ago.

Allegri left Juventus ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, but has since been linked with a return to the club, both when Maurizio Sarri picked up the ninth consecutive Scudetto and during Andrea Pirlo’s first season as a coach.

Inter are set to end Juventus’ domination in Serie A, but the Bianconeri even risk missing out on the Champions League after Pirlo’s turbulent year as head coach.

Inter are set to end Juventus’ domination in Serie A, but the Bianconeri even risk missing out on the Champions League after Pirlo’s turbulent year as head coach.

Allegri is the past of the Old Lady, but the newspaper claims he could also be the future at the Allianz Stadium.

After the recent performances, Pirlo’s job is in doubt and the current coach has six games remaining to convince the Bianconeri, including a Coppa Italia Final against Atalanta in May.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals Allegri is considered the right man to restore the prestige of the Old Lady and his trusted collaborator Aldo Dolcetti posted a drawing of a zebra on Instagram yesterday, to help fuel the speculation.

The newspaper also highlighted that Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone told radio Bianconera that he doesn’t rule out a return to Continassa.

The former coach knows the environment and knows how to manage the many champions at Juventus, but he is not afraid to give the youngsters a chance either.

But the newspaper points out that Allegri could demand revolution at Juve, the same thing he asked of sporting director Fabio Paratici and Vice-President Pavel Nedved before he was sacked in 2019.

Allegri will find a nice group of young players among the faces he already knows.

Matthijs de Ligt, Federico Chiesa, Dejan Kulusevski have joined the club since Allegri stopped and the newspaper believes the former coach has proven he knows how to get the best out of the youngsters through his previous work with Alvaro Morata, Kingsley Coman and Moise Kean.

The report claims Allegri would be happy to find Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle and would not oppose the sales of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot.

He could work to make Arthur Melo the deep-lying playmaker, whilst waiting for reinforcements on the market, as Juventus are being linked with Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

Giorgio Chiellini has, according to Corriere di Torino, decided to continue, but has still not been offered a renewal by Juventus.

The captain is one of Allegri’s soldiers and despite rumours of a possible move to the MLS, the return of the former Milan coach could change Chiellini’s plans.

Paulo Dybala is currently talking with the patron about a new contract with the club and Allegri had reportedly suggested to give the Argentine more space by changing six or seven players two years ago.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the players Allegri was ready to give up and the former coach was prepared to build the team around Dybala, who he felt forced to sacrifice for tactical necessity after the arrival of the Portuguese superstar.

Ronaldo’s future is uncertain, but the newspaper stresses that Allegri would know how to cope without CR7, putting Dybala back in the centre of the project, as has happened in La Joya’s best season in 2017-18.
