Allegri picks 100th different Juventus XI in 100 games

Max Allegri has been accused of not knowing how to set out his Juventus team and that is backed up by the statistics, as he has started 100 different starting line-ups since returning to Turin.

The trip to Bologna kicks off at the Stadio Dall’Ara at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

Allegri seemed irritable in his press conference yesterday, coming off three consecutive Serie A defeats and a midweek Coppa Italia exit at the semi-final stage to Inter.

The coach has faced criticism for being short on ideas and not giving this team a genuine tactical identity.

That might not be entirely unfounded, considering DAZN report today Allegri starts the 100th different starting XI in the 100 official games since he returned to the Old Lady in the summer of 2021.

In his 99 matches so far, the coach oversaw 54 victories, 19 draws and 26 defeats, scoring 149 goals and conceding 99.

This is of course Allegri’s second stint at Juventus, after a five-year spell from 2014 to 2019.
