Max Allegri is free to return to football after his Juventus contract officially expired today.

Allegri left Juve last summer, making way for Maurizio Sarri, but still had one year left on his deal with the club.

Now, the 52-year-old is no longer bound to the Bianconeri, who in turn have been relieved of his €7m salary.

That means he is free to talk to other clubs, without the need to negotiate a severance package.

He led the Old Lady to five Scudetti and two Champions League Finals between 2015 and 2019 and has been linked with the Paris Saint-Germain hotseat.

The coach had been previously tipped to join Manchester United, but they seem to be sticking with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
