Respected journalist Fabio Caressa suggested that Massimiliano Allegri ‘will no longer be the Juventus coach’ beyond this season, providing an update on his future.

The 56-year-old Italian tactician has come under increasing pressure during his second spell in the Piedmont capital, and things reached a new level this season. After putting up a strong fight with Inter in the early stages of the title race, things began to fall off in the second half.

Juventus have now managed just two wins in their last 11 Serie A matches, a run that has seen opinion on Allegri reach a consensus regarding his dismissal in the summer. One of the leading candidates to replace him is Bologna’s Thiago Motta, reports suggest.

Allegri future

Speaking to Sky Calcio Club via TMW, Caressa first discussed the letter sent by John Elkann to Juventus shareholders last week.

“The most important news of the week, beyond the 0-0 in the derby, was the letter that John Elkann wrote to the shareholders. There is a very important passage in which the team is given to Cristiano Giuntoli.

“It is underlined how good he is, that he has won important awards and how he is, with a focus on the young talents that Juventus will have to build.

“It means that Giuntoli has absolute responsibility. Throughout the document he was the only name mentioned.

“Giuntoli will be allowed to bring his trusted men inside and rebuild the armed wing of Napoli that had won the Scudetto. Among other things, Manna was the man closest to Allegri and will go to Napoli.”

The famous Italian journalist then provided an update on the future of Allegri.

“Allegri hasn’t been called by anyone yet, he has a good relationship with Elkann who recognizes him for having carried the team through a very difficult moment, but he hasn’t been contacted to tell him if he’ll be staying or going yet.

“He feels a bit alone and abandoned but the feeling is that he will no longer be the Juventus coach next year.”
