Allegri: ‘Mourinho is pathetic!’

Milan manager Max Allegri has blasted some colleagues, including Jose Mourinho. “He's pathetic and banal. His arrogance hides insecurity.”

The Rossoneri tactician was interviewed on comedy show Le Iene and asked to give a brief description of other bosses, but was particularly riled by the Real Madrid chief.

“Every now and then Mourinho is pathetic. He always repeats the same things and it makes him become banal,” said Allegri.

“I think he's very talented, but his arrogance hides insecurity.”

Mourinho was back in the spotlight today after releasing a statement on the Real Madrid website taking yet another stab at rivals Barcelona.

“I would like to end with a very simple wish, which is that next season we recover certain values no one should ever forget, but that some professionals and institutions of the world of football have nonetheless forgotten,” wrote The Special One.

“These values should be the basis of our sport. Fair play, respect for your opponent and zero tolerance to racism shouldn't just be words, they should also be facts. I again stress my hope and wish to recover those fundamental principles in our sport next season.”

Meanwhile, Allegri gave his response to quick-fire questions about other colleagues.

“Leonardo's weakness is he's too much of a gentleman. Gigi Del Neri is very stuck in his ways. Luciano Spalletti is… bald!

“Cesare Prandelli is diplomatic. Walter Mazzarri gets too angry.”

When asked if he would follow Leonardo's footsteps and move across the city to Inter, he ruled it out.

“You never know in life, but there is a lot of rivalry between Inter and Milan, so these club colours really get under your skin.”
