Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri warns his players that the game against Torino will be different than the one against Chelsea: ‘It’s more difficult to prepare for the derby.’

The Bianconeri visit the Stadio Grande Torino on the back of three wins in a row, two in Serie A and one in the Champions League.

They beat Spezia and Sampdoria last week before taking all three points against the European champions at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.

“Tomorrow, the fans return to the stadium and it will be a good game. We have to fix the ranking, we have a chance. We still need to adjust the table, not to fix it completely,” the Tuscan coach said at a press conference.

“It will be the game of their life, it’s a derby and Torino will be preparing it in the best way.  We need to do the same and prepare it even better than the one against Chelsea. It will be even more difficult.

“These games are like little finals, we need to take another small step forward, it’s not easy. It will be a different game than the one against Chelsea,” he continued.

“Torino run a lot, Ivan Juric is doing a great job and he’s passed his ideas to his team. It will be a complicated game, we’ll need to have patience and be able to play our game for 95 minutes.”

Allegri named two Juventus starters and heaped praise on Federico Chiesa, who scored the winner against the Blues.

“[Wojciech] Szczesny and [Giorgio] Chiellini will play for sure,” ensured Allegri.

“Without Morata and Dybala, we saw that Chiesa can play as a centre forward.

“The game against Chelsea was a good one, but we need something else tomorrow, we need a different game. Torino play man-on-man and we’ll need to face them properly.”

Allegri wants to see the same defensive commitment shown against the Blues. The Old Lady has already conceded 10 goals in six Serie A games, four in the last two games combined.

However, they managed two clean sheets in their opening two Champions League games.

“Chelsea kept the ball possession and we made some technical mistakes making their life easier,” Allegri said.

“We must understand that if we kept that defensive attitude for 70 minutes, we can do it for 20 minutes too. It doesn’t matter how long you defend, but the attitude must not change.”

The Bianconeri may have more options in midfield and attack as Arthur and Kaio Jorge could be available against Torino after recovering from injuries.

“Arthur trained with the team yesterday. Perhaps he and Kaio will be available tomorrow. We may need Arthur during the game, he is a technical player and he could help us.”
