The Rossoneri feel they have turned a corner with the 5-1 drubbing of Chievo, but are seven points adrift of the Tuscans.
“Fiorentina are getting results and playing fairly well. They have technically gifted individuals and so like to keep possession. This will be difficult like every other game and one we have to win to climb up the table,” said the Coach.
“We will be ready to play with great intensity. Stevan Jovetic is out, but we have great respect for Fiorentina, as they have David Pizarro, some tough defenders and quick wingers. We must play like a team that knows what it wants.
“As for us, I can confirm that Mattia De Sciglio, Kevin Constant and Daniele Bonera will play. I think Philippe Mexes will be in the middle too. I have a doubt between Massimo Ambrosini and Nigel De Jong, though Antonio Nocerino is also doing well.
“In attack I am considering Alexandre Pato and Giampaolo Pazzini, but of the two I think the Brazilian will start. Stephan El Shaarawy has a little problem with his tendon, so we’ll have to see, but Kevin-Prince Boateng is in great shape and will probably start.”
Allegri remains under fire after a 1-1 Champions League draw with Malaga and inconsistent Serie A results that have left them in 10th place.
“I won’t reply anymore to questions on my situation or the transfer market. We got results in my first two years, it was unthinkable to be top this season with so many changes.
“I started this experience with enthusiasm and will keep it going until my contract expires in 2014, trying to get back to challenging for the top spots. We can have a great campaign and are still in the running for every objective.
“We played so many youngsters in the Champions League and it’ll take time to win, though obviously our ambition is to do so right away.
“At this moment we haven’t resolved our problems and are a long way from the top three. Right now our objective is fourth, fifth or sixth place, then we’ll see as we go on what the situation is. We’ve got to get back on our feet and go through to the Champions League knockouts.”
This is a special game for Riccardo Montolivo, who left Fiorentina on a free transfer in the summer to join Milan.
“He can play football and it’s a shame he was criticised at the start of the season,” continued Allegri.
“It’s only normal that sooner or later a talent will emerge from his negative patch. He’s got brains and has above all grown in terms of character.”
