Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly on the verge of taking over at Juventus, Real Madrid or Napoli, depending on various sources today.

The situation is completely up in the air and the managerial merry-go-round seems to have Allegri as its fulcrum.

While El Partidazo de Cope claims Allegri is first choice to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, the Italian sources have a very different view.

They point to former Real Madrid player Raul as the new boss to save money on Allegri’s wages.

Sky Sport Italia maintain if anything that he is closer to a Juventus return, where Andrea Pirlo’s position is not guaranteed, despite securing a top four finish with the final match of the season.

Pirlo also won the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.

Sportitalia insist Allegri remains the first choice for Napoli, with President Aurelio De Laurentiis stating today to Portuguese media that “the new coach has already been chosen and will be announced next week.”

It was always evident that Napoli were not the priority for Allegri, who would only take the role if Real Madrid and Juve fell through.

Should Allegri not join Napoli, then Luciano Spalletti is the favourite.

If Allegri does return to Juventus, it’s also fairly safe to assume that director of sport Fabio Paratici will leave once his contract expires on June 30.

It was Paratici and Pavel Nedved who pushed Juve to sack Allegri two years ago, but the coach retained an excellent rapport with President Andrea Agnelli.
