Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was happy with the team’s work in their US pre-season tour, which culminated in a 3-1 win over Real Madrid.

The Bianconeri showed a number of positive signs in their final pre-season friendly in the United States, picking up a 3-1 victory over Carlo Ancelotti’s side at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Juventus’ Serie A season kicks off on August 20 with a trip to Udinese, giving Allegri a few more weeks to prepare with his squad. Some changes could occur in the transfer market, with Dusan Vlahovic possibly heading to Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku moving the other way.

Speaking in a press conference via Gazzetta dello Sport, Allegri first reacted to Juventus’ win over Real Madrid and their work on the US tour.

“We finished this period of work well, against a very strong team, who have great technique and physicality. We played well for the first 25 minutes attacking forward, then it’s that they took the upper hand.

“But we defended well, we could have done better on some lost balls in the second half but I’m happy. More than the heat here in Florida we suffered from the humidity, but we settled in immediately, the game was played at a good pace.”

He touched on the Bianconeri’s goals for the coming 2023-24 season.

“We have started a journey, unfortunately we are out of the European cups despite the fact that we finished third and would have been entitled to participate in the Champions League.

“We have to do without it, and we have to be more focused on the league, to make sure that we can participate in the most important cup again in 2024-25.”

Finally, Allegri discussed the work of Juventus’ American players in their win over Real Madrid.

“McKennie had a good game today and I’m very happy. Weah was a bit more tired, but he is a guy who has good qualities and will be very useful for the team.”
