Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly set his sights on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job at Manchester United.

After five consecutive League titles as Bianconeri coach, the former Milan boss was replaced by Maurizio Sarri in Turin and is according to Daily Mail looking for a fresh challenge abroad.

The newspaper claims that he has been “holding off an immediate return to management in the hope of eventually taking over United” and as the pressure mounts on the current Norwegian coach, it suggests he is in pole position to take over at Old Trafford.

Man Utd are currently going through a difficult spell in the Premier League and are fifth in the table, five points behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the last place qualifying for the Champions League.

After only two wins from their last six outings, Solskjaer’s job could allegedly be on the line and Allegri’s name has been linked with the Red Devils also previously.

The 52-year-old has been supported to be the right man for the job by both Marcello Lippi and Fabio Capello.

Allegri won the double in Italy four years in a row from 2015 to 2018, whilst he has won the Scudetto six times – including Milan’s last league title in 2010-11.
