Massimiliano Allegri is looking increasingly likely to leave Juventus in the summer and has ended up in the sights of Napoli, Il Mattino report.
The 56-year-old Italian coach still has a little over a year left on his contract with the Bianconeri but is widely expected to be dismissed in the summer, allowing director Cristiano Giuntoli to start building a new project in Piedmont.
Napoli still haven’t chosen a new long-term coach ahead of Francesco Calzona’s likely exit in the summer but have been linked to a handful of options, including Antonio Conte, Vincenzo Italiano, Stefano Pioli and even Gian Piero Gasperini.
Napoli look to Allegri?
As reported by Il Mattino via TuttoJuve, Giovanni Manna is ready to take over as Napoli sporting director and he is thinking about the idea of bringing Allegri to the Campania coast following his likely dismissal from Juventus in the summer.
The Old Lady could look to terminate the coach’s contract a year early by paying out half his salary, allowing him to link up with the Partenopei. The relationship between Allegri and Aurelio De Laurentiis is strong, but the president is a little concerned regarding fan and press reactions.
