Max Allegri said it’s ‘normal to lean on’ a player like Cristiano Ronaldo and stressed that everyone at Juventus ‘has more responsibility’ after he moved to Manchester United this summer.

Giorgio Chiellini said the Portuguese superstar ‘needed a team that would play for him’ and was critical of the timing of the 36-year-old’s departure from the Allianz Stadium.

Leonardo Bonucci added that the players at Juventus relied too much on Ronaldo and stressed the Bianconeri are returning to their old ways and maybe ‘took for granted’ that the former Real Madrid star would win them games.

Ronaldo responds: ‘I win everything, so am I going to be worried about the critics?’

Ronaldo has responded in an interview with Sky Sports UK and said he will continue to silence the critics and ‘win’ with the Red Devils.

During the press conference ahead of the big game against Inter, Allegri was asked about Bonucci and Chiellini’s comments regarding the Portugal talisman, and the Juventus coach underlined that ‘everyone has more responsibility’ after Ronaldo left the club.

“When you have a player like Ronaldo, who scores 30 goals a season, it’s normal for the team to lean on him,” Allegri said at the press conference. “It’s normal that without Cristiano, everyone has more responsibility, and we have to find goals from the other players we have.”
