In his Juventus presentation press conference, Max Allegri discussed free kick takers in the side and dropped a big hint that Miralem Pjanic is returning from Barcelona.

The coach is back on the bench after a two-year sabbatical and sat beside President Andrea Agnelli in today’s presser.

He was asked about the hierarchy of free kick specialists at Juve, seeing as in the last two seasons their goals scored from direct set plays have plummeted.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored just one direct free kick in the Bianconeri jersey, while Paulo Dybala doesn’t take many.

“It depends on the situation, perhaps Ronaldo can take long-range free kicks, but the situation is easy because one is right-footed and the other one is left-footed. Then, we’ll see if another right-footed free-kick taker arrives…” said Allegri.

Many took this as a big hint that Pjanic could be on his way back to Turin, a year after his ill-advised transfer to Barcelona.

There are repeated reports in Italy and Spain that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is pushing for a Juve comeback.

He is clearly not part of Barcelona’s plans under coach Ronald Koeman, so would be allowed to leave on loan.
