There are suggestions Max Allegri could break an extraordinary run by facing Bologna with the same Juventus XI that played in the previous match.

The game kicks off on Sunday at 17.30 UK time (16.30 GMT).

It is reported that the starting XI used for their 3-0 win away to Udinese last weekend could be replicated at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

That in itself doesn’t seem remotely unusual, until you look at the statistics from Allegri’s time at the helm.

Since his return to the club in the summer of 2021, Allegri has never picked the same line-up for two games on the bounce.

That was in part because of their injury crisis, but also the need for squad rotation when participating in Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Champions League or Europa League.

Due to their financial irregularities, the Bianconeri have been excluded from UEFA tournaments for this season, so will only play one game per week, apart from the occasional Coppa Italia fixture.

It could also be a different approach from Allegri in general, having already shown more attacking tactics in the opening fixture, responding to the extensive criticism from the last two campaigns.
