Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri says Adrien Rabiot will start against Sampdoria tomorrow and insists ‘anything can happen’ in the last ten days of the summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri face Sampdoria at Marassi tomorrow after beating Sassuolo in their Serie A opener on Monday.

Allegri will be without the injured Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, but the coach insisted that he is not worried about his players’ shape. Leonardo Bonucci is also not fully fit. He will travel with the team to Genoa, but won’t start.

“I was looking forward to playing. Games create adrenaline, there will be the Champions League. The fun part starts now,” Allegri said at a press conference.

“I don’t like to train for the whole week. It’s ok, but then we have to play. The fun part of football is Saturday and Sunday because we play.”

Adrien Rabiot was suspended against Sassuolo on Monday and will make his 2022-23 Serie A debut tomorrow. The Frenchman snubbed a move to Manchester United earlier this week.

“Rabiot plays tomorrow,” said Allegri.

“Of course, players who could leave have chances in the market, but Rabiot had an excellent season last term. He was suspended last week, so he didn’t play. We have two new signings tomorrow, Rabiot and Kean, who were suspended against Sassuolo.”

Another new face could start his first game for Juve this season.

“Filip Kostic should start. He is a smart guy so he settling in well,” claimed Allegri.

“He must know his teammates, but he has important qualities and is a very good crosser. The ball always comes through, so we must attack the space well. He plays football well, he passes the ball quickly and reminds me of Douglas Costa.”

Denis Zakaria is available, but according to Gazzetta, he could leave the team in the last ten days of the summer transfer window, making room for Leandro Paredes.

“Zakaria is ok, he played well against Sassuolo and I am happy. I don’t talk about transfers, ten days are remaining before the end of the transfer window, anything can happen, so we must only focus on the pitch and the club will do the rest.”

Moise Kean could get the nod at Marassi tomorrow, and Allegri says the ex-Everton man will be important for the Bianconeri tomorrow.

“I am happy with Kean, he is doing well and scored against Barcelona and the Primavera Team. From next Saturday, we’ll play a game every three days, there will be space for everyone and subs will be crucial. Reserves did well against Sassuolo, so we must keep working.”

  1. In PhD Max we trust. The legendary scholar of bed time calcio champagne knows what needs to be done to achieve 4th spot glory. Sell a player who has been quite decent, less than a year on the books, not a high earner and swap him for Parades. Inevitable as the ancient one know Leandro is the same as Arthur and Rabiot Zidane knows the deal already.
