Juventus fans have little to celebrate at the moment, but just in time for Halloween they are enjoying a surprising Max Allegri cameo in horror comic Dylan Dog.

The Bianconeri are struggling in Serie A and the Champions League, but President Andrea Agnelli is ignoring all calls to have the coach dismissed.

So when a football fan spotted a character in Dylan Dog issue 161, from February 2000, that bore a striking resemblance to Allegri, the image quickly went viral.

Many of the jokes referenced Allegri’s Tuscan accent and tendency to shout ‘Calm!’ from the touchline at his players.

They reworked horror movies to fit the brief, including ‘Calm of the Living Dead’ and the rather cruel ‘You killed football.’

The character is wearing a cape and hero Dylan Dog, a paranormal investigator, believes he seems familiar.

‘Did you think I was Death?’ replies the Allegri-style figure.

It remains to be seen if any Juventus fans will be dressing up as Allegri for Halloween at the end of this month.

  1. Forget about Dylan Dog. The real Dylan Dinosaur is far scarier. Christmas has come early for Dusan no touch Vlahovic, but Roberto Carlos and Cafu are firing on all cylinders. Halloween is right around the corner. Trick or treat, PhD Max has no candy left. He gave them all to Monza and Maccabi Haifa. Regarded with reverence from all corners of the world. A hero in Turin and now honorary citizen of Haifa. Legend.

  2. Hahahaha, I love Dylan Dog. I said once in liveblog, not only Serie A, I like Italian comic books too. I have read many issues of Dylan Dog, Yugoslavia and Croatia editions.

  3. Never heard of such a comic but the less I see of Allegri the better. Man has ruined a once proud institution with Agnelli.

  4. InterFan75,
I remember those comics from my childhood! Alan Ford, Zagor, Nathan Never, Lazarus Ledd, Martin Mystere… Oh, the nostalgia…

    Michael,
Dylan Dog is a cool comic. Each issue feels like a complete movie. Some stories are truly creepy.

  5. Cannot argue with based @LAPSOSB. @Michael I have never heard of the comic either but let not your heart be troubled. Allegri will not be there forever. Problem is Agnelli will.

  6. Allegri should really play the character known as the riddler. I am always confused with his tactics. Playing Rabiot on the left and then McKennie. Mind boggling.
