The rumour mill went into overdrive after Evra posted on social media an image of him setting next to Allegri as they watched Tottenham’s Champions League home loss to Bayern Munich in London.
“So great to watch a match with you guys. I love the knowledge we share together and the advice and I know the future is bright for all of us,” wrote Evra.
It would be a return to Manchester United for the Frenchman, who played here from 2006-14.
