Allegri advises Juventus striker Vlahovic to ‘react and fight back’

Max Allegri explains the importance of Leonardo Bonucci as Juventus take on Lecce, then gives Dusan Vlahovic advice to ‘react and fight back’ against his current problems.

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

April was disastrous for the Bianconeri, who managed just one point from four Serie A matches and were eliminated from the Coppa Italia semi-final by Inter.

The only positives were the return of their 15 points pending a new trial into the capital gains case, plus qualifying for the Europa League semi-finals.

“The most important thing is to get the victory tonight, as if we don’t start picking up points, the ones behind us will close up,” Allegri told DAZN.

“Lecce are fighting to keep their Serie A status and have earned only one point more at home than they did on their travels.”

There are some changes to the starting XI today, as Adrien Rabiot is rested, while Bonucci, Angel Di Maria and Vlahovic return to the starting XI.

“Leo is doing better, he had a period of inactivity and then 70 minutes in Milan. You need character as well as quality in these matches, so the more experienced figures need to help the others.”

Vlahovic has struggled to find the net lately and seems increasingly frustrated with his situation in Turin, but Allegri is not worried.

“This is part of a player’s career, he needs to react and fight back. He seems calm, these are moments that every player goes through in their careers.”
