Allan says he is experiencing ‘the highest point of my career’, despite Napoli’s Champions League exit.

Napoli were demoted to the Europa League after their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool midweek, but the Partenopei nonetheless remain Juventus’ nearest challengers for the Scudetto, while Allan recently earned his first-ever Brazil call-up.

“The disappointment was huge, but it wasn’t such a simple group,” the midfielder told the club’s official website.

“We gave everything, the maximum, and we’re disappointed, but life goes on and we have the League, EL and Coppa Italia. These are our objectives.

“We’ll have a great game on Sunday so we can win and forget the Champions League. Moving to Napoli was great for me, playing in the Champions League, fighting for the title and representing such a passionate fan base.

“I’m grateful to be where I am, I’m very happy and every time I go for a walk, the fans compliment me.

“It’s the best and only in Naples do you encounter that, but I’m always trying to do more. The dream is to win for the fans.

“Being called up to the Brazil squad is the highest point of my career, but I’m not satisfied with just that.

“It’s only a starting point so I have to work like I always have and help the team. I hope to experience other, even more beautiful things.”
