Francesco Toldo claims “all of Italian football were with Alberto Brignoli and Benevento” when the goalkeeper stunned Milan on Sunday.
Brignoli’s 95th-minute header earned Benevento a historic 2-2 draw with Milan, which also saw the basement boys pick up their first-ever point in Serie A.
“He had strong belief, you could see it,” the former Inter shot-stopper explained to Radio Anch’io Sport.

“He had strong belief, you could see it,” the former Inter shot-stopper explained to Radio Anch’io Sport.
“All of Italian football were with him and Benevento, as if it was a footballing fairy-tale. I felt great happiness in watching Brignoli. It’s the essence of football.
“From now on, there will be lots more young lads who want to be goalkeepers.”
Toldo can also claim to have scored a last-minute equaliser, back in 2002 against Juventus, although his was officially credited to Christian Vieri.
“Vieri brushed the ball at the last minute, but I touched it last and Inter drew,” he added.
“’Bobo’ was fighting for the Capocannoniere at the time, but I was the one who equalised against Juve!”
