The FIGC medical commission will ‘evaluate’ the option of giving every professional football player in Italy a COVID-19 vaccination.
The suggestion has been mentioned several times over the last few days, including by the Players’ Association (AIC).

The FIGC medical commission will ‘evaluate’ the option of giving every professional football player in Italy a COVID-19 vaccination.
The suggestion has been mentioned several times over the last few days, including by the Players’ Association (AIC).
“Vaccinating all the professional football players in Italy is a hypothesis that should certainly be evaluated,” said member of the FIGC medical commission Francesco Braconaro on Radio Kiss Kiss.
“As it is a general public health issue, and football being a restricted community, vaccinating some and not others would become pointless.
“I agree with Lega Pro President Francesco Ghirelli, who says all the players should be obliged to have the vaccine. I’d also say the same for all medics.
“Considering what we’ve experienced over the last 10 months, there really is no alternative. We haven’t actually discussed the vaccine issue within the commission, but I believe it could be a good idea to vaccinate all professional players.”
