Alisson believes Roma are ready to show they have what it takes to win Serie A with victory at Juventus on Saturday.

Roma can draw level with Juve in second place if they beat the Old Lady on their travels, and Alisson feels the Giallorossi owe the Scudetto to themselves.

“I have the chance to become an Italian citizen through my wife, who has Italian origins,” he told Il Messaggero.

“I have German heritage, but I can’t become an EU citizen with it. Once my wife takes Italian citizenship, I can too.

“Last season? It was a rather difficult period but nothing that pushed me to give up or sent me into depression.

“Still, I was used to playing 50 games a year in Brazil and I wanted to play here, not so much because I was and still am Brazil’s No 1 but more for the pleasure of playing.

“Reuniting with Szczesny? It’ll be nice to face him. I have a lot of love for him, we have a good relationship and there’s great respect between us.

“There were never any problems between us, even if he played and I only did a little. Maybe I’ll ask for his shirt…

“Juve? We’re on a path to reach our objectives, which is the Scudetto. We have to beat everyone in order to win it.

“I’m feeling positive because I trust my team, in addition to having respect for Juventus. They’ve been champions for six years and finalists in the Champions League twice in the last three, so they’re very good.

“However, so are we, and we’re going to Turin for the three points. My future? I’m not thinking about it so much, but I’m happy here at the moment.

“I want to win something big with this club because they deserve it. You work with sincerity here, and they’ve been making a huge effort for the past 6-7 years.

“We’ve built an almost-entirely new training complex. All we need to do now is win.”
