Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was thoroughly impressed with Inter after their Champions League victory. ‘They are a great team and their players should be proud of their performance.’
The Nerazzurri had it all to do after losing the first leg 2-0 at San Siro, but became the sixth different Italian side to win at Anfield thanks to a stunning Lautaro Martinez strike into the top corner.
Champions League | Liverpool 0-1 Inter (2-1 agg): Martinez magic not enough
Alexis Sanchez was sent off moments later, ruining the hopes of a comeback in this Round of 16 tie.
“We have to recognise Inter are a great team with a lot of quality. Their players should be proud of their performance this evening, they left it all out there on the pitch to seek qualification,” former Roma goalkeeper Alisson told Sky Sport Italia.
“We are not happy with the defeat, but we must be happy with qualification after a difficult match, we knew it was going to be tough. We have to do better in future matches.”

Bilan fans are very quiet today! Is it because Inter actually beat Liverpool on the road with a man down? And Bilan never could beat them with full squad?
Liverpool hit the woodwork 3 times and Dustbinter rode their luck as per usual. I have to admit that was a great strike from Lautaro but they were dominated over both legs. Liverpool were too casual at times but no doubt the better team goes through.
Milan had full squad? Lol. Milan was playing with B squad too
don’t compare inter with milan in ucl..milan in the bottom of the grup table
