Alisson and Florenzi have been linked with moves away this summer, and while Monchi saw the pair ‘as part of Roma’s future’, he confessed to not being totally in the loop about their intentions, while suggesting he was more confident about the midfielder.

“I see Alisson and Florenzi as part of Roma’s future, but we must understand what they’re thinking too,” the sporting director told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’ve stayed in touch with Alessandro, he loves Roma and wants to stay here, but we also have to find an agreement so we can move forward together.

“Transfer market? I’m a big supporter of the window shutting earlier because I think it’s better for everyone if the market is closed once the season has started, above all for the period of adaptation that new players need.

“This is why I’m happy with this new arrangement.”
