Alexis Sanchez came off the bench to win the Supercoppa Italiana for Inter against Juventus and got some things off his chest. ‘The more champions play, the better they feel! I am like a caged lion!’

The Chilean came on for Lautaro Martinez and snatched victory in the final seconds of extra time, just as they were preparing for penalties after the Weston McKennie header and Lautaro Martinez penalty.

Supercoppa | Inter 2-1 Juventus aet: Alexis Sanchez last-gasp winner

“Champions are like this, the more they play, the better they feel. They can do something nobody else can,” Alexis Sanchez told Sport Mediaset.

“I played against Lazio, I thought I would play today as I was in good shape, but the coach made that decision.

“I was hungry and felt like winning something tonight! We are on the right track with the right players and we have to continue like this.”

Alexis Sanchez was in no mood to be magnanimous and even had a go at former Inter coach Antonio Conte, as well as current boss Simone Inzaghi.

“I always said I felt like a caged lion, I wasn’t playing! Conte arrived one day and said, nobody else is like you, he would put me on for the final 15 minutes and said I’d make the difference. I said put me on earlier, I can make the difference then too!

“This is the roar of the lion!”

  1. You are a one caged lazy player that earns a big $ but doesn’t care about his team. Udinese was your team, but no top 4 in any of the 5 best leagues. Failed in Barca, failing in Inter. PS: Arsenal is not top 4

  2. Ros – Alexis is always working his socks off. He gives everything to his team. He didn’t fail anywhere except Man United, won titles with Barca, Arsenal, Inter and Chile. Show some respect.

  3. Recently he’s been amazing because he adds something different from other Inter players. As long as he keeps doing what he’s getting paid to do then he wil definitely help Inter keep winning. However the biggest threat for him is himself because he seems to never be fit and these matches might be the only ones I remember seeing him fit for such a long time.

  4. You have never been physically fit, but you have good running and you go back to play, so you will not score many goals …

  5. Sanchez, a lucky goal doesn’t all of a sudden make you a great player. There’s a reason why you hardly ever get played. Terrible at ManU, useless at Barca and not much better at Shinter. Had a decent run at Arsenal, but then again, my 12 year old could star at Arsenal these days.
