Inter are struggling with a double Chilean problem, as they must get Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal off the wage bill before bringing in a new striker, whether it’s Paulo Dybala or Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri have made it clear the pair of Chile internationals are not part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans for the next season.

They are also amongst the highest earners at the club, so with contracts that expire in 2023, they may well be reduced to terminating these deals by mutual consent rather than making any profit on a sale.

Vidal might be easier to push out, but Alexis Sanchez is proving to be trickier, as Calciomercato.com claim he has already rejected moves from Turkey and Japan.

His refusal to accept a transfer that doesn’t interest him means Inter may well end up negotiating a termination, which would require a farewell payment to the former Arsenal striker.

Until these issues are resolved, Inter cannot bring in either Dybala as a free agent or Lukaku on loan from Chelsea.

  1. blame Inter management for bringing washed up players with ridiculous salaries…. Sanchez is only taking care of his business
