The third round of fixtures and back-to-back games against the Orobici await Liverpool in the prestigious competition, and Alexander-Arnold believes tomorrow’s opponents highlighted their strengths with a quarter-final run last season.
“Atalanta are an amazing team. We saw that last year,” Alexander-Arnold said at a press conference. “It’s hard to pick one or two players out.
“They’re an amazing attacking force. We have to analyse their full team.”
But the England international doesn’t believe Liverpool ‘struggle specifically’ against Italian teams, despite acknowledging they are ‘really good defensively’.
“Italian teams are really good defensively and well-organised and hard to break down,” he added.
“For us, it’s about finding a way to do that. I don’t think it’s against Italian teams we specifically struggle – and this is the first time we face Atalanta.”
