The 29-year-old Brazilian started the 2-1 win over Ferencvaros in the Champions League on Wednesday, his first start in 2020-21.
He returned from a hamstring injury to play in the last five minutes of the 2-0 win over Cagliari last weekend, but was happy to have completed a whole match against the Hungarians.
“I’m very happy to have played 90 minutes,” Alex Sandro told Sky Sport Italia. “The team helped me a lot, starting with the coach.
“It’s difficult to be off the pitch for such a long time, but I’m happy for the win and for everyone’s commitment.
“My role is always to push on the wing.”
