Toby Alderweireld’s move to Roma could be back on as Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly beaten Arsenal to Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.

Roma appeared to have given up on Alderweireld and turned their attentions back to Atalanta’s Gianluca Mancini.

However, reports in France claim Spurs have trumped Arsenal to Saliba, offering €30m plus bonuses for the 18-year-old, and that a deal could be finalised as early as tomorrow.

Calciomercato.com, meanwhile, writes the Belgian has already agreed a four-year contract with the Giallorossi, worth €3m a season plus bonuses.

Franco Baldini is understood to be meeting Spurs officials today over the possible signing of the 30-year-old.

Baldini was previously employed as technical director of the Champions League finalists between 2013 and 2015.

The website adds Nicolo Zaniolo – a long-time Tottenham target – could be part of negotiations, going as far as stating the Londoners are ready to offer €40m plus Alderweireld for the midfielder.
