Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani, who confirmed Lionel Messi’s move to PSG, has posted an image of Cristiano Ronaldo in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt with the word: ‘Maybe?’

A member of the Al-Thani ruling family who run the French club, as well as the Qatari state, his tweets have broken protocol throughout the summer with regards to the transfer market and Messi’s situation.

When he was a free agent and Barcelona announced his contract would not be renewed, Al-Thani regularly updated his Twitter account assuring a deal was done with the Argentina international.

Today there are reports Ronaldo wants to leave Juventus and the idea of joining PSG is still not entirely abandoned.

Now Al-Thani has fanned those flames by posting an image of Messi and Ronaldo standing side-by-side, both wearing Paris Saint-Germain jerseys.

“Maybe?” was the only caption, written in three different languages.

Inevitably, PSG are one of the only clubs who could afford Ronaldo’s €30m per season salary, but Juve must sell at €30m to avoid making a loss on the former Real Madrid star.

  1. That picture is ludicrous. Messi looks ticked off, and Ronaldo is clearly a head taller than Messi but these are just superficial comments. Those two players on opposing teams on the same pitch, classic battle…on the same side, classic case of a growing cancer in the locker room. I can’t see them co-existing.

  2. As a fan it would amazing to see these two on the same team. But thinking tactically, I don’t think they could play together.

  3. Well if it happens at least PSG won’t win CL – agreed with comments above, they can’t play together and it won’t work in the spogliatoio.

  4. @to all those who are talking about Cristina’s height, he is known to constantly stand on his toes to appear taller. I also think that photo is doctored. Cristina isn’t wearing his usual tonne of makeup.

  5. if mbappe leaves then it is a real possibility. neymar-ronaldo-messi. biggestnames in football on one team. that would be something else. it would also be funny if psg dont win the c.league with those 3

  6. @Rosario, Ronaldo tends to stand on his toes during team photos when he’s stood besides 6’3+ keepers and central defenders. Ronaldo is at least 6’1, which does make him considerably taller than 5 6-7′ Messi.

@jimmy_Stallion, the two could co-exist tactically with Ronaldo down the middle and Messi on the right. They could interchange to devastating effect.

That’s just petty for no reason. Why would you resort to name-calling? He is and will be one of the best players in football history.

  8. @Milan Fan

CR and Messi fanboys are just the worst. No matter how old they are they always seem to resort to unnecessary name-calling. They haven’t changed at all in the last 1.5 decades. It’s seriously pathetic.

  9. @Milan Fan.

What name calling? He does stand on his toes in photos and does wear makeup. how is that ‘name-calling’??

Ronaldo could turn water into wine, magically bring peace to all mankind and impart wisdom, and he’d still be a pirlone for me. He plays for Juventus. You want me to sit here and glorify one of their stooges? and you call yourself a Milan fan?

Should it be a problem to at least respecting other clubs’ players? I am Juve fan, but for me Nesta, Maldini, Gattusso, Pipo Inzaghi, Costacurta is my personal heroes. I am not CR7 or Messi fanboy, and never consider them as the GOATS (that would be Maradona) and will go for Alessandro Del Piero instead but as a football fan, both of them are great players and have something to inspire our young generation to become a good player.

I thought as an adult (as I believe you are, however bitter, hateful and childish your comments are), we should salute the man by what they do on the pitch, not based on what color they wear.
