Milan’s hopes of signing Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi have taken a blow as the club announce: “He’s not for sale.”

The 20-year-old is believed to be one of the Rossoneri’s top transfer targets, but their hopes of signing him appear to be dwindling.

Firstly, the failed sale of Luiz Adriano to Jiangsu Suning and Monaco’s decision not to sign Stephan El Shaarawy permanently means the San Siro outfit have missed out on a potential €29m.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has revealed further bad news for the club after interviewing Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars.

“The player is not for sale and no club has come forward in a concrete way for El Ghazi with an economic offer,” he told the outlet.

The paper believes that the Dutch club want €15m for the winger, while Milan don’t want to go higher than €8m.

However, one positive is that the player is believed to be keen on a move to San Siro, meaning there could still be hope for a move.
