Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero hits back at Zlatan Ibrahimovic who had blamed Argentinean players for their attitude during World Cup celebrations.

The Rossoneri star had strongly criticised the Argentineans on Wednesday.

“Messi is considered the best player in history and will be remembered for winning the World Cup, but the others? I cannot respect, as a professional, those who behave like that,” he said commenting on their celebrations after winning in Qatar.

Safe to say Aguero didn’t enjoy Ibra’s comments and remembered a few incidents involving the 41-year-old in the past.

“I remember I was at Man City and we played United. You [Ibra] did hard tackles and complained to the referee,” said the ex-striker on Twitch, as quoted by the Argentinean paper Olé.

Ibra spent two seasons at Manchester United, scoring 29 goals in 180 matches between 2016 and 2018, before joining LA Galaxy.

He returned for a second spell at Milan in January 2020. Overall, he has scored 92 goals in 159 appearances with the Serie A giants.

“I think you’re the last one who should talk about it. You also had bad behaviour on the pitch. I remember some dives and once you hit someone with Galaxy to then pretended he had hurt you. Is that good behaviour for you?” asked Aguero.

“It seems to me that it’s very rude to say that we are not going to win anymore. I think that before worrying about Argentina, you could worry about your country, about your players, who were not even in the last World Cup.”

Ibrahimovic is currently out of action due to a knee injury, but Milan hope he will be back in February for a Champions League clash against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham at San Siro.

He underwent knee surgery in May after Milan’s title win and hasn’t yet featured for the defending Serie A champions this season. His contract at San Siro expires this coming June.
