Andrea Agnelli, Federico Chiesa and Cecilia Salvai are in Turin today for the inauguration of a new educational hub, opened in collaboration with Save The Children.

The Bianconeri are no stranger to charitable work and now are helping launch the new educational hub that’ll give children the possibility to learn new skills and interests. At the Punto Luce, children from six to 16 can carry out a variety of activities, like theatre, music and dance workshops, sports and recreational activities, school support activities and reading invitations.

Juventus chairman Andrea Angelli spoke first at the inauguration, talking about the importance of dreaming and working hard. He also didn’t miss the opportunity to make a small dig against UEFA, an organisation that he’s not fond of following the failed European Super League project.

“For us at Juventus, it is a pleasure to be here to inaugurate this Punto Luce. The emotions I feel are very positive, this can only be a context of great stimulus for growth. We live in a global world, we are very attentive to the activities of children and we know this role.

“We know that our coaches have to play a fundamental role in the growth of children, they have to be educators. It is nice that for those who have this kind of are from here you can see the flagpoles of the Stadium. The more you dream big, the more you can achieve.

“It is a source of pride to be a partner of Save The Children, which has more than a hundred years of history and is synonymous with guarantee, effectiveness and quality on such sensitive issues as improving children’s education.

“In addition to this activity, which is material, with a refurbished location, we have also carried out many other delicate procedures necessary to guarantee qualified activities for a correct approach to raising children.

“We came before the institutions, now they are in the UEFA licences, but we did it first. We were innovative.

“Here there’s Chiesa and Salvai, who are two points of reference for the dreams of the boys, but dreaming is not enough. You need dedication and daily sacrifice, you need responsibility. Together with these values, the dream can become tangible.”

Chiesa then spoke about the event, underlining the importance of sport to children and his childhood dreams.

“I was fortunate as a child to have dreams, to be able to pursue them and transform them. Not only in sport, I was passionate about science.

“This is where dreams begin, let’s give these kids who had no chance to create dreams, this opportunity, here they can dream thanks to Juventus and Save The Children. I wanted to talk about sport.

“We think a lot about education at school, science subjects, literature, but sport is fundamental. Sport is education, training and discipline. I believe there is no better thing than sport to teach the true values of life.”

Finally, Juventus Women defender Cecilia Salvai commented on the importance of working hard as well as dreaming.

“Dreaming is not enough, but it is needed. You dream big and then manage to carve out small satisfactions that then mark your life. I have been lucky enough to achieve and realise many dreams and I still have them. I hold on to them and try to realise them day after day.”
