The Bianconeri announced on Friday that Allegri would not be their tactician for the 2019-20 season, despite being under contract until June 2020.

The search is now on for a replacement, with names suggested including Maurizio Sarri of Chelsea, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino, Simone Inzaghi at Lazio and France manager Didier Deschamps.

“Starting each season on July 1 and thinking the Scudetto victory is to be taken for granted might seem nice, but it’s not, because behind every success there is hard work and sweat,” said President Agnelli during a fan event.

“The distinctive thing about Juventus is our capacity to innovate, because we can see the future before anyone else. On the one side, as President of the ECA (European Club Association), I am concentrated along with many others on redesigning the football of the future.

“Juventus, on the other hand, must have the ability to look forward, at the same time consolidating its status and foundations, such as the Under-23 squad and the Juventus Women team. We are very proud that the Juventus Women have won their second Scudetto in the first two years of their existence.

“We live in today, but our sights are projected into tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”
