Former Juventus President Andrea Agnelli has lodged an appeal at the TAR tribunal against his two-year ban from football over the capital gains scandal.

The Bianconeri were docked 10 Serie A points and saw several members of the Board of Directors suspended for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains and therefore balance the books.

While the directors all stepped down as soon as the investigation was confirmed, and some were later cleared, Agnelli is the only figure who has been actively continuing the legal battle.

The new Juventus chiefs, put in place by Agnelli’s cousin John Elkann, have tried to leave the Agnelli era behind them by accepting a plea bargain over the so-called salary manoeuvre.

They are also taking steps to break away from the European Super League project, leaving only Real Madrid and Barcelona, to get back in UEFA’s good books.

Agnelli is continuing the fight in the courts and news agency ANSA note he lodged the formal appeal to the TAR tribunal in Lazio today.
