Milan‘s possible takeover from Investcorp would see many European stars attracted by the Rossoneri, including Raheem Sterling who, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, will be offered to the Serie A giants.

The England international is reportedly no longer on good terms with Manchester City’s boss Pep Guardiola and according to the pink paper, his agents will offer him to the Rossoneri. The 27-year-old has been a regular starter at the Etihad Stadium this season with 14 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances. His contract expires in June 2023.

Decisive days for Milan’s takeover: Gazidis to leave?

With Investcorp in talks to buy Milan from Elliott, La Gazzetta predicts a transfer budget in the region of €300m to strengthen the team in 2022-23 if the Bahraini investment fund completes the deal.

The Serie A giants are in advanced talks with Divock Origi and Sven Botman, but more stars have been linked with a move to the Stadio Meazza following the beginning of exclusive talks between Investcorp and Elliott, which will last two weeks.

Milan remain interested in Marco Asensio of Real Madrid (there had been rumours even before Investcorp’s interest in the Rossoneri) as well as Christopher Nkunku. Real Madrid’s asking price for Asensio is €30m, while RB Leipzig may be looking for an offer in the region of €60m for the France winger.

  1. This article is completely laughable yet another take over which is supposed to attract big stars , why would Stirling even think about coming to serie a

  2. While whispers of this takeover are about its just gonna be silly season for these type of transfer rumours!

  3. While I have no problem with the quality of player (although a little inconsistent), the quality of the stories coming out about Milan now are dreadful.

  4. @Milan141 You won’t have to worry about it. We couldn’t afford his wages even if he was on a free.

Nor will you need to worry about the next 20 articles linking Milan with everyone up to and including Pele.

    @MAD It’s getting there!

  5. Gazetta has gone from being a bit reliable to randon and so unreliable. The are just creating media sensations for the clicks.

  6. Tomorrow:

Milan and Newcastle battle it out for Ronaldo and Mbappe.

The key words in these transfers is “according to”.

If you see “according to” or “reportedly”, that means it’s made up.

  7. @James.

Unfortunately that is the case with pretty much all media outlets. They have to talk about something especially when the window is shut. The sad reality is that people actually read, and take a lot of the drivel seriously.
It is well known that the people from that region who are apparently looking at Milan are also looking at investing into quite a few other Italian clubs. Whilst it seems like the deal for Milan is in the offing to be completed, I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a diversion or even tactically designed to maybe disrupt Milan at this critical stage of the season.

Nope but maybe M´bappe…. Who knows. One thing is for sure, we will have a higher budget if this goes through.
