While multiple sources are confident that Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio will join Juventus for €20m, his agent warns ‘this is not a done deal.’

Over the last few days, numerous sites and newspapers confidently stated that an agreement had been reached for the sale at €18m plus another €2m in add-ons.

Di Gregorio is expected to become the new first-choice shot-stopper at Juventus, pushing Wojciech Szczesny to the bench or more likely towards a summer sale.

However, agent Carlo Alberto Belloni gave a very different explanation of current events to Sportitalia.

“There was some truth to what has been written, as there have been some chats with Juventus. However, to say it is a done deal is quite another matter and that is simply not true.

“We are talking, the season ended two days ago, this is the stage when clubs sort out their directors and coaches, so everything is up in the air.

“It is pleasing, but just as we had chats with Juve, there can be chats with other clubs too. Michele will have his summer vacation, then if there is something concrete to leave Monza, we’ll look at it.”

Di Gregorio named Serie A Goalkeeper of the Season

Di Gregorio turns 27 in July and grew up in the Inter youth academy, with experiences on loan at Avellino, Renate, Novara and Pordenone before finally making his Serie A debut with Monza.

He was named MVP Serie A Goalkeeper of the Season for 2023-24 thanks to his performances for the mid-table club.

The shot-stopper’s agent also pointed out that Di Gregorio will need some treatment over the summer to resolve a niggling ribcage issue before the start of the new season.
