Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent has denied that Eduardo Vargas’ arrival at Napoli preludes his client’s departure.

Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent has denied that Eduardo Vargas’ arrival at Napoli preludes his client’s departure.

There have been murmurings this month that Lavezzi is considering his future with the Azzurri outfit amid reported, returning interested from Inter. The player also recently spoke about the overwhelming attention he receives in Naples.

However, representative Alejandro Mazzoni has denied that the player is set to leave the San Paolo.

“I believe that Napoli have purchased in Vargas a player who can become important,” Mazzoni began his interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli today.

“He is very quick and a technical player, but must settle well to reach his best in Italian football.

“He needs to be left alone to acclimatise to this new reality.”

The agent then developed this train of thought towards his client Lavezzi’s recent recuperation from injury and the fact that the initial stages of it have been based in Argentina.

“People often forget that these footballers are kids who need to live with their family and in the case of Lavezzi, with their child.

“This period in Argentina has been very important for Pocho. Ezequiel has a great desire to play but should avoid unnecessary risks.

“Expect him back in the next few days.

“It is absolutely not true that the arrival of Vargas preludes the departure of Lavezzi.

“Napoli is always thinking ahead but when you say that Inter pulled out of the race for Vargas so as to sign Lavezzi, it is one big lie.

Lavezzi will not be leaving, he is not on the market.

“In life you can never say never, but at the present time there is no truth [to the reports].

“Nowadays saying someone is not on the market is meaningless, but he has a contract until 2015 and there is nothing to renegotiate either.”
