The Partenopei Coach has a contract until the end of this season, but the club can activate an extension, as confirmed by President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

However, in an interview on Radio Crc, Sarri’s agent admitted he couldn't guarantee his client will be in Naples next season.

“Sarri isn’t waiting around for De Laurentiis to trigger the extension,” Alessandro Pellegrini explained.

“By necessity Maurizio has referred this matter to me, but apart from that he doesn’t care about the contract at all.

“The most Sarri does at the bank is taking out money to do his grocery shopping, so when people suggest Sarri might be thinking how many days there are until April 30 [the expiry date] I have to laugh.

“The contract is a moment of reflection for a Coach, and you need time and the right mindset.

“If he needed to devote his energies to that to win the Scudetto we’d have already talked, but all his energies are focused on Palermo-Napoli.

“We’ll talk about it when all the games have been played, and every effort will be made to get the result.

“I can’t say Sarri will be at Napoli next season, the contract is not part of our priorities, it doesn’t interest us and we’re committed to doing more.

“I haven’t spoken with Sarri [about it] and nor am I going to, we’re focused on an objective that’s too important.

“The Palermo match will be decisive and we can’t think about anything else.”

It has been suggested that the Scudetto race is a battle of nerves between Sarri’s team and Max Allegri’s Juventus, but Pellegrini doesn’t see it that way.

“It’s not a battle of nerves between Allegri and Sarri. Allegri won the Golden Bench [for best Coach], he’s a great Coach and he’s doing even better than [Antonio] Conte.

“In the last few years he’s revolutionised the team, bridging the gap in a short amount of time and being competitive on every front.

“He’s a great Coach, he won’t be worried about Sarri, he’ll be pushing Juventus forward because he’ll know the Bianconeri have more to lose than Napoli.”
