The Uruguay international is back at San Siro after his loan spell with Torino, which was cut short in January.
“There were several teams interested in Diego’s situation and that’s a positive thing to know,” agent Ariel Krasouski told Calciomercato.com.
“Milan had three left-backs, so the best solution was to go and play for Torino. Ricardo Rodriguez’s departure changed everything and Milan called him back, which Diego accepted immediately without issue.
“Now Diego has to wait for the coach to give him a chance and fight for his place. Fortunately, he is a player who gets many requests in every transfer window, so we’d analyse it if something came along that was convenient for both the club and Laxalt.”
It has been reported that Spartak Moscow, Krasnodar and Lokomotiv Moscow are all interested in signing the former Genoa man.
“There has been some movement, nothing concrete yet, but I can confirm there is interest. Diego has always been admired in Russia and so far it’s been requests for information on his situation. I can assure you there is nothing advanced about these talks.
“We’ve never been able to complete a transfer with the Russian clubs, but in future, who knows? Diego would like to see out his contract at Milan, but if an interesting offer arrived, we’d analyse it with the club.”
