Marco Branca, a member of the agency representing Alvaro Morata, admits it is difficult to imagine the Juventus striker moving to Barcelona in January.

Branca, a former Inter director, is the Managing Director of First, an agency representing many footballers, including Alvaro Morata.

There are reports that the Spaniard could join Barcelona in the January transfer window if the Old Lady signs Dusan Vlahovic.

Xavi has already spoken to Morata, but Max Allegri blocked the striker’s exit earlier this month as the Serie A giants didn’t have the financial resources to sign a replacement.

“The road for Barcelona is no longer duable,” Branca told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Alvaro feels well in Turin and we’ll see what will happen with Atletico Madrid in the summer. I am optimistic about his future in Black and White. Like Benzema, he works a lot for the team and he wasn’t scoring many goals with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Morata joined Juventus on an initial loan deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020. The Old Lady paid €20m for the player’s two-year loan and have an option to make his move permanent for €35m at the end of the season.

However, the Old Lady is highly unlikely to sign Morata permanently, which is why the striker was open to joining Barcelona during the winter transfer window.
