Italian agent and intermediary Marco Busiello says his client Tiemoue Bakayoko is in a ‘sad’ situation and claims he will consider his options with Milan and Chelsea.

The France midfielder returned to San Siro in 2021 on a two-year loan deal with an option to buy.

However, he struggled with playing time under Stefano Pioli last term and has yet to make his first competitive appearance with the Serie A champions this season.

“It’s a situation that makes me sad because this transfer was strongly wanted,” Busiello, who is part of the midfielder’s entourage, told Tuttomercato.

“He’s joined many clubs on loan over the last few years, so he had to adapt to a new club every year. He was happy to join Milan on a two-year deal with an obligation to buy under certain conditions.

“However, it didn’t work for many reasons, injuries or good performances from other players. The current status is bad for all the parties and I am sorry about it.”

So what will happen now?

“We’ll see, we’ll make our assessments with Milan and see which are the opportunities. He has another year with Chelsea after the current one, we’ll make our assessments together.”

Last summer, multiple reports were claiming Bakayoko would terminate his contract with Milan and Chelsea, becoming available as a free agent. However, the 28-year-old eventually remained at San Siro and will discuss his future with the Rossoneri and the Blues during the winter transfer window.

Bakayoko has made 77 appearances in Serie A with Milan and Napoli, scoring three goals, one for the Rossoneri and two for the Partenopei. He joined Chelsea in a €40m deal from Monaco in 2017.
