Giorgio Chiellini’s agent Davide Lippi refuses to rule out a possible move to the MLS for the Juventus captain and is not sure that Kylian Mbappé will join Real Madrid.
Chiellini’s contract in Turin expires in June 2023, but according to multiple reports in Italy, he could either retire at the end of the season or play for one more year in the MLS.
His agent Davide Lippi (son of Italy’s World Cup-winning coach Marcello) has refused to rule out a move to America for the veteran defender who would have remained in Turin until the end of his contract had Italy qualified for the World Cup.
“It’s still early to talk about his future, Chiellini is focused on Juventus and he only thinks about ending the season well,” Lippi told Sky Sport Italia.
“MLS? We are talking about an athlete known worldwide. I don’t know where he could go, but he won’t lack offers. It takes time and patience to make decisions with these kinds of players.”
Paulo Dybala will surely part ways with Juventus, who decided against extending his expiring contract. Therefore, the Argentinean will leave the club as a free agent in the summer.
“I hope he stays in Italy,” said Lippi.
“He got emotional in the last match with Cagliari and that says a lot about his bond with Juventus. I hope he doesn’t move abroad, but I am afraid it will happen.”
Despite not being Dybala or Mbappé’s agent, Lippi was also asked his view on the future of the France star who has reportedly shaken hands with Real Madrid over a new €50m deal at the Estadio Bernabeu.
“I don’t know what will happen, I’ve seen something different lately, so I am not sure he will leave PSG,” the Italian agent concluded.
MLS!? Are you kidding me!? What is with players doing swan songs in MLS? Yes it brings the league some measure of recognition, but it cuts both ways in that they only get the talent when the talent is in the sunset of their playing years.
