Agent Gabriele Giuffrida said he hopes Milan coach Stefano Pioli will get a new contract at San Siro. ‘It’s almost a natural path’.

The 55-year-old took over at Milanello on October 9, 2019 and has since helped lift the club back into the Champions League.

Milan finished second in his first full season with the club and Giuffrida believes the former Lazio, Inter and Fiorentina coach deserves a new deal.

Pioli’s contract with the Rossoneri expires in June 2022 and the agent revealed he is in constant talks with the hierarchy.

Giroud: ‘Zlatan a great example, Milan want to fight for Scudetto’

“There’s a daily confrontation,” Giuffrida told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “The working group at Milan is fantastic, they built this Milan together by supporting each other.

“I hope they will continue together, it’s almost a natural path.”

Pioli has never won a trophy during his career as a coach, but the former centre-back certainly hopes to battle for the Scudetto in 2021-22.

Milan are unbeaten in Serie A so far, winning six and drawing once in seven games, sitting second behind Napoli in the table.
